Mitsubishi Repair: 96 mitsubishi 2.0 tranny problems, clutch pedal, tranny problems

Question
i had the clutch changed ad when i got it back it would have a slight grind going into 3rd gear...well continued to driving because the mechanic said it was wearing in thats all...well as time progressed it would still grind going into 3rd but once you hit 4th it was fine but it wouldn't go back into 3rd gear after shifting out of it...then on my way home i lost my clutch pedal...do you think its a lot of problems or all one problem? and how much to repair if i did it on my own?

Answer
Codie: Hey you paid good money to this mechanic to get that clutch replaced. So take the car back to that mechanic and get him to fix it right. I never understand why people do this, you paid good money, money you worked hard to make and then in good faith you took your car to this shop; they said yes they could fix your car. Then go back to them, because the car was never right and I could say either they did not seat the clutch right or maybe they put in the wrong clutch. But the car should have shifted without grinding. The clutch does sometimes take a bit of time to seat its self but heck now you say your car will not shift back into 3rd. That is not right. So take the car back to where you got it fixed, put your foot down and get them to fix it right this time! Could be they did not tighen something up right, I mean where is a lot of different things that could have happens. But make them fix your car, because all it needed was a clutch then it should have run just fine after you got it back. Your problem all points to this shop. How can you fix it yourself, you have no idea what they did to your car. So take it back to the shop. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
