Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi evo iv rattles, vacuum test, vacuum leak

dear kevin
i really wouldn't have a clue how this forum stuff actually works sorry but i have a problem,
i own a 97 evo 4 gsr and its done 97000 km with no real mods and every time i rev the engine, stationary and driving, the engine has a bad rattle on the top front side near the heat shield. it sounds alot like some pebbles in a can but it only rattles briefly when the revs are going down not up! it rattles between 3000 and 1500 rpm :-( i'm a bit worried about it.. any ideas would be very very much appreciated :-)

Hi, The first thing I would check is your motor mounts. I say this because if the mount is bad it will raddle like that. Also look and make sure there is no vacuum leak maybe you can feel around or get a vacuum test. If none of these are the problems please give me a update thanks,Kevin
