Mitsubishi Repair: hesitation and check engine light on 99 mits gallant, catalytic converter, lifters

Question
QUESTION: I recently replaced lifters, catalytic converter, some sensors, and all belts on my mits gallant 1999...I recently got it back and after 2 days of driving the car hesitates when I accelerate from a stop and makes a squealing sound also the check engine light came back on...Please help me I have already put a lot of money into this car??

ANSWER: Brenna: First off you need to take it back to whatever shop fixed your car and put your foot down. As the car did not make that noise before and now it does so they did something to it. The squealing sound is a belt, they did not get it tight enough when they put it back on or they did not give you a new belt. In that they could not find one for your car so they put the old one on or else it is not the right belt for the car. Or again it is not tight enough, but take the car back to where you got it fixed and get them to fix it right. You paid good money to get your car fixed and so keep the shop honest here. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda

QUESTION: how about the hesitation apon acceleration from a stop and check engine light?

Answer
Brenna: All that could be from the belt slipping, because the engine is trying to pull that belt but it is slipping and so the computer kicked on the check engine light. Get the belt fixed, it should kick off the light and you should have power again. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
