Mitsubishi Repair: 94 Mitsubishi Galant, mitsubishi galant, correct mechanics

Question
My daughter's Boy Friend recently replaced the alternator on her 94 Mitsubishi Galant. The car now stalls/shuts off once foot is off accelerator. Car ran great until the alternator was replaced. Lights and radio do not lose power. Car shuts off as soon as she removes her foot from the accelerator. I know this sometimes happens when a battery is replaced, does same occur with alternator replacement ?

Answer
Best thing to do is back up on your tracks. Make sure all wiring to the alternator is correct, Mechanics even do this. Also make sure the belts are tight. If this is all good then I would get the new alternator checked for a defective parts. I hope this helps, If not please let me know and I'll help you further.

Also one other thing did he disconnect the negative off the battery when he installed this? If not then do it let it sit for about 5 mins so the ECU/PCM can reset itself. Thanks again,Kevin
