Mitsubishi Repair: Q about distributer, camshaft position sensor, distributor cap

I have a 98 galant that i have been fixing up and was wondering if a distributer from a 94 would fit on a 98

Matt: No! You must buy a distributor that is for the model, engine and year of the car you are trying to fix. The distributor cap would not be the same for the 98 as for the 94 and you could mess a lot of things up doing this. As for one the computer. Also in that distributor cap is a sensor called a camshaft position sensor. You must have the right one for your 1998 Galant. Hope this helps and Happy New Year! Linda
