Mitsubishi Repair: gas leaking out of tank neck., gas leaks, filler tube

When the car's gas tank is filled up all the way there is a slow leak that creates a puddle directly behind the tire below the gas tank door.  Is there an easy fix for this?  The car is a 99 Galant es. Is there known problems for this model?

You need to have a mechanic locate exactly where the leak is ASAP.  The leak may just be from the filler tube, which is easily replaceable.  Else, you may have a leak in the tank itself, which is a little more difficult to replace.  Your mechanic will better be able to tell whether the leak can be patched or fixed.  Gas leaks are not uncommon in any older vehicles.
