Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eclipse door locks not working, eclipse gs, wiring connections

Question
I can't get the electric locks to work on a 95 eclipse gs.  The power windows and everything else electronic work fine.  Please help

Answer
Rob: One of the first things to go on a car is those darn power locks. You might check the switch to see if it might be bad, replace that but when you think of a 1995 model, all the dirt and what not that gets into those doors. You might try cleaning all the locks, might sure they all move but still I am thinking it is that switch. Oh one more thing when you push the switch that moves those locks, can you hear it try to work. Or is there nothing? Nothing means the switch, did you check to see if there might be a fuse for those? Being they are power locks. Ok, here is what my repair manual says about all this.... check the system fuse and or circuit breaker, checking the switch wiring for damage or loose connections, check the switches for continuity, removing door panel(s) and checking the actuator wiring connections of looseness or damage, inspect the actuator rods if equipped to make sure they are not bend, damaged or binding. The actuator can be checked by applying battery power momentarily. A solid click indicates the solenoid is operating properly. Or else you could go out to a parts store and buy yourself a repair manual, they cost around $20.00 and well worth the money. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
