Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 mitshubiti gallant, brake light switch, mitsubishi gallant

Question
We have been having problems with our 95 Mitsubishi gallant, 4 door, clutch, 4 cyl. At first, the dash board lights went out completely, than the tail lights, than brake lights. So we  replaced fuses 4 different times under the hood, We got the brake lights working (except one square) but the car still has no working tail lights or interior lights. Oh, we also fixed the brake light switch on the brake pedal. Please help us!!!

Answer
Mindy: I would say you have a bad relay. They are often than not hard to see if they are bad or not, but if you get a flashlight, you should be able to see if the tail light relay is bad. Which I believe it is. Interior lights could be the switch but also could be another relay. Oh hey when you replace that relay, be sure to unhook the neg cable on the battery and then replace it after the new relay is in. Other wise you will blow the new relay and have to start all over again. If one square is not working, that could be a bulb that needs to be replaced. So check those relays, they are in those black boxes in with the engine. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
