Mitsubishi Repair: 5th gear popping out, bearing retainer, shift linkage

i have a 3000 gt 1992 and the 5th gear will pop out when i let off the gas.i heard theres a bolt that can come loose but i dont no where that is any ideas?

Jesse: Right out of my repair manual...1.worn or improperly adjusted linkage, transaxle loose on engine, 2.shift linkage done not work freely, binds, 3.input gear bearing retainer broken or loose, 4.dirt between clutch cover and engine housing, 5.worn shift fork. You really should go out and buy yourself a repair manual for your car. It would walk you through things to check and how to do that checking. Those repair manuals cost around $20.00 and well worth the money. Hey try to get an Haynes as they have better pictures and things. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
