Mitsubishi Repair: 2003 Eclipse GS leaking radiator hoses, radiator hoses, upper radiator hose

Question
I have a manual 2003 Eclipse 2.4 GS that I have had for about 2 months, with 75,000 miles on it. Within the first couple of weeks, the upper radiator hose was leaking so, I replaced both the upper and lower hoses and clamps. I have got the clamps screwed down tight but coolant is leaking out of the hose, like it wont seal. I just don't have any idea why it is still leaking when the parts I thought were at fault have been replaced. Also there is a really mild engine knocking. I think I just need new spark plugs to fix that though?

Answer
Morgan,
Check for dents, holes, or impressions where the hose attaches.  The seal may not be making 100% contact.  You can try applying hi-temp RTV on all the inner surface of the hose where it attaches.  Let it set completely before running your car.  The RTV may help seal any anomalies.

Mild engine knocking can be caused by low level, dirty, or improper weight of oil.  If you haven't had an oil change in the 3000-5000 miles, have it done again and be sure the proper amount and type of oil is used.
Good luck!
