Mitsubishi Repair: turning off, fuel pump, eclipse

My son  96 eclipse is turning off while running.

Jose: Sounds like either a problem with the fuel pump or the computer. So you need to get the fuel pump tested to see if it is putting out enough fuel. You know don't you that the fuel is what keeps the pump cool and so if your son runs the car down to empty before filling it up, with time he will cook the pump. But also the computer controls everything in that car and so I would take it to a shop to have them check what the computer might be kicking out as to a problem. Or it could be the computer its self, as some of the computers are just bad. They came that way from the plant where the car was built. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
