Mitsubishi Repair: Passenger headlight low/high, low beams, eclipse gs

Question
I'm not sure if this question has been asked or not in the past, so please
forgive if you have already answered this question.
I bought a 1999 eclipse GS about a month ago that needs a few repairs, Ive
already done most of them, but one I problem I cant figure out lies in the
passenger side headlamp. It does not function on either the high nor low
beam setting. I have changed out low beams on both sides, and replaced the
(40A size) fuse in control of the 'headlamp/phares'. I'm wondering what else
could be causing this problem. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
Thank you in advance.

Jeremy: First off even if you asked the question before, not to worry. I am here to answer questions and I will just answer it again. lol. No I don't remember you asking this before. Sounds like relay might be out or else you could have short someplace. Anyway those black box or maybe boxes have relays and larger fuses in them. You need to check if one of those relays might be bad or maybe one of the larger fuses. Open the hood of your car, looking at the engine; there should be a large black box over on the driver's side of the car up by the firewall. Maybe one with the battery well every car is a bit different. On the cover it should tell what is in the box as to the relays and fuses. To check the relay you will need a flashlight as they are hard to see sometimes. If you replace a relay be sure to take the neg cable off the battery and then replace it once the new relay is put in. If it turns out not to be one of those larger fuses or relay; then you have a short someplace; that will mean a voltmeter, repair manual for the right readings and you will have to find the short. Or take the car to a shop and let them find it for you. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
