Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 diamante SOHC firing order ?, haynes book, plymouth laser

Hi, I just replaced the timing belt on my car. The chiltons book says the #1 cyl is fwd on the transmission side of the engine compartment but the distributor cap has numbers 1-6 stamped on it with the #1 going to the rear bank of cyl. Any insight? the Chiltons covers way to many models and is not to specific on any.

Kieran: You will have to buy a Haynes repair book. As my books are mostly all on Eclipse, Plymouth Laser and the Eagle Talon. As the Haynes book is much better it sticks to only a few years on your car, I wish I could help you better. And I hate to make you go out and buy another repair manual. But most places think that Chilton is the best repair manual around. Sure if you want to work a lot of different engines. So get the Haynes it should help you out a lot more.
