Mitsubishi Repair: 1991 mit 3000gt sl 2 wd, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
This car is a problem, 1- I have a heating problem, So I replaced the water pump , belts, tensioner,. Now it over heats at random,  Sometimes it will run fine, and then at times it will over heat, The cooling fans are working,  But I do think a sensor  is the problem. 2- The car runs like crap! It misses, has no power, Eng, light is on, computer codes indicate, 1-fuel injector, 2-Mass Air flow sensor is bad, 3-Noisy valve lifters. Can anyone put me on a path where I can buy a good low cost long block? with a warranty. and, is their other reasons this car is over heating? such as did the shop incorrectly set the timing belt? after installing the water pump? also, I would like to lower the car, can you tell me how i can do it or help me find some shorter springs to lower the car, can you tell me where to find a complete manual for this year of 3000 gt? Thank You for any help!

Answer
Scott: Sounds like a weak head gasket to me, because sometimes the car is fine and other times it is heating. Could be you have cooked the head gasket and so weaken it. If it is the head gasket, it will cost some to have that replaced and you might want to forget doing the other things to the car. But your choice. Trying changing the radiator cap as it also might be your problem. A good repair manual can be bought at most parts stores for around $20.00 and well worth the money. You need to replace those bad sensors too, but don't think any of them would cause your car to overheat. Try that radiator cap, check do you have the right amount of coolant in the system. Try changing the thermostat too, it might be sticking. I hope one of these ideas helps you and God bless: Linda
