Mitsubishi Repair: 1999 montro cruse control, vacuum hoses, vacuum hose

Question
Linda, #1 I took your advice and changed all 3 belts and the alternator and everything is back to normal. although i am thinking that he may have over tightened my belts because before he replaced them the vehicle would ideal at 1000 rpm now it is idling at 600 rpm. #2 And like Robs question (10/25/07)now the cruse control light comes on but the cruse control don't work

Answer
Lee: Putting in different belts well ones for your car would not mess with the idling, if that is down it might be a weak sensor in the throttle housing. You could have the car coded to make sure everything is ok, with the computer and the sensors. You could have the idle set up some too. As for the cruise control, it has the servo motor, clutch switch, break light switch, control switches, a relay and associated vacuum hoses. So a shop will have to check that out for you to find your problem there. But it has nothing to do with the replacements of the belts. But rather just broke too. Sounds like a bad vacuum hose to me. But you will need a shop to find out which one is bad and so fix it. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda.
