Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi 92 verada, mitsubishi verada, distributor cap

Question
hi, i just bought a mitsubishi verada, 1992. It is an automatic and it is stalling at idling speed. is this a case of adjusting the accelatoer cable and she appearrs to be sputtering a bit going uphills. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Phillip: First thing I do when I buy a used car is to do a good tune up. Because you have no idea how the car was treated before you bought it. Even if the person you bought it from said they took care of it. So try that first, stark plugs, stark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. A oil change, air filter replaced too. If that does not fix the problem, then I would see about getting the idle set just a bit higher. Still I think the tune up might help a lot. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
