my 96 eclipse gs auto, ran beatiful all day, let it sit for about an hour, turned the key no start no crank i suspected the starter but it was replaced 3 yrs ago battery is only 1 yr old i also suspect the starter relay because no lights go dim when i try to start it nor does the car crank when i hit the starter... think its the relay?

Answer
Edison: You need to check your battery cables to make sure they are tight, I mean enough so you can not move them at all. These little cars have to have very tight cables, but also how old is the cables? Could be you need to replace them. Though the battery is but a year old it could be that it is bad. Sometimes you just get bad batterys. So you should have the battery tested to make sure it is good and holding a charge. Being you get nothing no crank, then it would have to be either the battery, cables or then have the starter checked. Oh another thing would be to check would that maybe you need to clean the cables where they hook to the battery, a can of coke will do this but then wash the coke off with water. Or else use a tooth brush and soda. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
