Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi eclipse 2003 v6, mitsubishi eclipse, hub cap

Question
how do i remove the rotor rear brake on my eclipse

Answer
Mike: First off you will need to go to a parts store and buy a tool makes for Ford, but works on Eclipse. Remove wheel/tire, remove hub cap, remove a steel plate held on by 5 -6 bolts, remove snap ring, loosen set screws and remove ring that bearings together(two pronged special tool needed here- buy the one made for Ford cars and ground off two pins, it will then fit perfectly. Most parts stores sell the Ford tool.), remove bearings, remove bolts that holds rotor to spindle, remove rotor, put on the new rotor and reverse the process, repack bearings and misc. bolts, first toraue valve for seating the bearings is 119 ft.lbs. You could check at mitsubishiforum.com and they might help you more too. Or else you can read up on how other guys did this job. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
