Mitsubishi Repair: RVR Engine removal, dodge colt, mitsubishi engine

Question
Hi just purchased a 1996 RVR (2wd which needs the engine replaced. Do I have to lift the body off or will the engine lift out the top? Also the wrecker says that these engines were prone to running bearings? Is this true?

Answer
You'll need to tell me the engine size, turbo, auto or manual tranny, FWD or AWD. I assume you are outside the US or Canada, since they are called Dodge Colt or Eagle Summit here?

The generic answer is that the engine does come out the top, although I am not sure about the AWD/Turbo models.

The only Mitsubishi engine with bearing problems that I know about are the 2.0L Turbo models in the Talon/Eclipe models after 1992 (7-bolt 4g63T models).
