Question
I can be getting up to speed shifting gears and when i reach about 3500 rpms my car will almost cut off and then pick back up when i let off the gas . sometimes it will do it when i shift into second . do you thank it might be my crank shaft position sensor or my fuel pump bad or maybe fuel filter. im not sure because as long as my foot stays on the gas i dont lose boost and do you think it might be i just need to change my oil. please help . I cant drive my car over 60 it stalls if i stomp the pedal or when i pass about 3500 rpms it used to do it around 5000 rpms but it has got worse. heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Answer
Chanc: You need to have your car coded to rule out any problem with the computer or its sensors. The crank shaft sensor is in the distributor cap so replace that, hey when is the last time you did a good tune up? That would be stark plugs, stark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor? How old is the air filter? How old is the battery cables? It might just be that your car needs a really good tune up. I would have the coil checked it might be getting old. You could have the fuel pump checked to make sure it is putting out enough fuel too. Been replacing a lot of fuel pumps of late, due to the high cost of fuel and people running their tanks so low. So have that fuel pump checked and do that tune up too. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
