Mitsubishi Repair: radiator fans, radiator fans, mitsubishi eclipse

hi, i have been workin on my 95 mitsubishi eclipse rs and i am having trouble with the radiator fans, when the ignition is turned on the fans have a small spurt of current and then stop, and even when the temp rises they wont turn back on and i dont want the engine to overheat so im hoping you can help me with this problem or give me some suggestions of what to try to test other options.

Alex: Sorry I was sick and so the reason not getting back to you as soon as I should have. Could be that your car has a bad or weak relay. I would be checking that, in with the engine is three black boxes, in them are relays and large fuses. You will have to check the tops of each box to see what is each one of them. There should be a box on the driver's side of the engine, but also two over by the battery. Also check the fan switches, they also control when the fans turn on and might be bad too. You really need to go out and buy a repair manual for your car. They cost around $20.00 and are well worth the money, most parts stores have them. You know owning a car can be a pain but yet the good times over ride the bad times, 100 to 1. God bless: Linda
