Question
why does my oil light turn on when i don't accelerate. When i accelerate in turns off?

Answer
The first (obvious) question, is the oil level on the dipstick reading in the normal range? The oil light being on should demand your immediate attention. If the oil level isn't correct, the motion of the acceleration is likely pooling up towards the back of the oil pan raising the oil level and allowing less air to enter. It is also possible that there is a problem with the oil pickup or the gasket that seals it to the pump, allowing air to enter. A quick test if the oil level is indeed reading in the normal range is to add a quart or two of oil and see if the problem goes away. Remember you can't go driving around like that, so you'll have to remove the excess oil after doing the test. The reason is that the crank can slosh the oil around and aereate it, causing you to not receive quality oil delivery to the bearings.

Keep in mind that it could also be the sending unit wiring that is moving around when you accelerate, creating a proper connection. Wiggle the wiring to the sending unit to see if the light flashes and verify you have proper oil pressure by using an appropriate guage.
