Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Eclipse 60k, mitsubishi eclipse, timing belt

HI,
I have a 2003 Eclipse which is due for 60k maintenance. The dealer quoted me $860 including changing the timing belt. This seems expensive. Is it reasonable? Should I just try to find a local shop and avoid the dealer?

Niall: It does sound costly to me, but then the dealerships have much higher cost for labor than some of the smaller shops. I guess I would check around and see what you can find. But you should get that timing belt replaced so please don't put this off. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
