Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 Eagle summit (mitsubishi) 1.8L, diagnostic equiptment, eagle summit

Question
HELP !!!!  Got this great little car from the inlaws with only 38,000 and it now has 52,000. This problem is driving me nuts. It is intermittent and goes away for a week or more if I take it in and have it on the diagnostic equiptment, and nothing shows up.  When I accelerate it will "chug" and then, sometimes I shift the auto trans into 2nd and it stops chugging and accelerates and sometimes not. Sometimes it just continues until I let it sit(10-15 min) and then it is fine. Sometimes I can put it in N and it will accelerate fine without load and sometimes not(then it take sitting several hours before it is driveable). Changed all Ignition parts, Fuel pump and Filter and it works fine for a while and then comes back. Love the car but can't deal with the problem.

Answer
Dale: I know that coding the car and it comes back ok. But do you know that Mistubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company and that company did not build very good ones. With times a piece in the computer will start to leak into the computer and with time that computer will die. I would replace the computer or have the one that is in your car rebuilt. Because this sounds like a computer problem even if it is not showing up on the coding. The computer controls about everything in that car. And if the computer is sick well then the car would be too. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
