Mitsubishi Repair: 98 eclipse lights wont turn off, hatch, eclipse

98,eclipse,4.0,GS. manual- lights in the back wont turn off. i had to unplug the lights from within but i cant get the strip of light that is on the trunk to turn off. basically why isnt my lights turning off by themselves?

If you are referring to your interior lights, those are activated by switches on your doors and hatch door.  If there is a short in one of those switches, it will cause the interior lights to constantly stay on.  You may need to have a  mechanic check the circuits for shorts.
