Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 Mitsubsihi Galant S SRS Light, air bags, autozone

"SRS" light just came on after sitting in front of the house for the weekend. Anyway to found out why and reset or diagnose short of heading to the dealer ?

Harvey:That means the computer of your car has picked up a problem with the air bags in your car. Is the light on all the time or does it blink at you? On all the time could be a bad sensor in the air bags. The problem is if the light is not blinking and if you were in a crash your air bag would most likely would not work. Do to that being a sensor problem. You could take your car to an AutoZone if you got one in your area and they would code the car for free. That would tell you what the computer is picking up. Or you could go to Sears and buy a meter in which you could code the car yourself. Or you could unhook the neg cable off the battery, wait 5 minutes and put the cable back on to see if the computer will reset its self. If the SRS light comes back on, I would take the car to a shop or a dealer because that would mean you need to get this fixed.Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
