Mitsubishi Repair: will not idle, 3000gt vr4, vacuum leak

Question
I recently did a motor swap in my 91 3000gt vr4.  I can not get it to idle with everything sealed up.  if I leave a huge vacuum leak it will start to idle.  the ECU looks fine there isn't any obvious damage.  the oil is getting diluted with fuel which leads me to believe that I'm not getting enough spark but I checked each plug and they are all firing.  I'm not sure what I'm missing and I would like to fugure this out.  It looks like if I don't figure this out I may have to use a stand alone fuel system$$$ and ideals all welcomed..

Answer
Cassey: When you did your motor swap, did you also take the computer that went with that motor or is the computer you are using for the old motor? You need to have your car coded, which will check the computer and all the sensors. As I think the computer you are using does not work well this this new swap motor. So it is trying to run it just like the old motor; which does not work. Also your car is the right year for the bad computers. They can look ok, but still could be bad. So you need to code it. It would seem that these newer engines have to have the right computers in with them. Or they don't run right but also you could have a bad or weak sensor. You don't always get an engine light when something goes bad in the system. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
