Mitsubishi Repair: 97 eclipse turbo convertible auto, spyders, convertible top

Question
my convertible top suddenly stopped going up/down - I can hear the motor
running - I checked the fuse and it seems fine.  Where is the motor located and
does it just need to be cleaned?

I'm not too familiar with the Eclipse Spyders, but I believe motor that controls the top is located in the trunk, near the left wheel wheel.  But beyond a faulty motor, you should have your control linkage and cables inspected for any kinks or areas where it is getting stuck or detached.
