Mitsubishi Repair: 94 galant tranny problem, transmission shop, loud pop

i have a 94 galant,2.4 sohc motor. it's an ls model, fully loaded. wife was driving the car, she heard a load pop from the front end of the car, then the car wouldn't go anymore. motor works fine, but when you shift the car into gear(any gear) it won't move. took out the filter, changed the fluid, no change. but i did notice a clicking sound from the transmission when the key is on, but motor not running and the shifter in a drive gear. is my tranny bad or is it electrical?

Joe: I would say something has let go in your transaxle, you will have to take the car to a transmission shop or dealership to find out. Because if changing the fluid and filter did not help the problem. And your wife heard that loud pop it sounds like the transaxle let go. I wish I had better news for you. But still I would take it someplace and have it checked over. It might be that a bolt or something just let go. I don't work on transmissions all our work goes to a transmission shop.
