Mitsubishi Repair: Ignition computer, crank sensor, mitsubish

Question
We are trying to find an ignition computer for a 1990 Mitsubish Montero.  We've had no luck.  Does anyone have any suggestions where we might find this part?  I'd appreciate any help I could get.  Thank you!

Answer
Linda: Who told you that you needed an ignition computer for your car? Your car has a computer but it controls a lot of things in your car not just the ignition. I did a hunt on line but all that came back was either a computer or an ignition distributor. Now in the distributor cap is a sensor and it is called a crank sensor. Which would help your car start. If the computer is bad in your car, you will need to just replace the computer not an ignition computer. So again my question is to you, who told you that you needed such a thing? Thanks! Linda PS. Your car is in the right years for the bad computers too, in that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company and it did not build very good ones. A piece will start to leak inside the computer and with time it kills off the computer. So if you need to replace the computer it would be just the computer of the car. Hope this helps you some and good luck!
