Mitsubishi Repair: Leak in 200 Eclipse GT, eclipse gt, drain tube

Question
I own a 2000 eclipse GT that has 72,000 miles on it. I live in the state of Florida where, because of the year-round heat I have to use the air conditioning almost constantly. About 6 months ago I noticed that the floorboard on the driver's side was damp underneath the floor mat while I was cleaning it. The dampness has increased to a moderated degree since then, but seems to disappear when I am not using the air as much. I am wondering if this could be caused by a blocked drain or drain plug under the dash or underneath the floorboard itself. If so, where are the drains located and what is the best was to clean/unclog them? Thank you very much for your time and any info you have.

Answer
Robert,
The water is probably coming from the A/C evaporator.  The condensation that forms should drip into a pan behind the dash and then drain outside the car through a tube.  The drain tube may be clogged.  If you're lucky, you can unclog it with some compressed air.  If you don't have access to an air compressor and can't find the drain tube, you can have a mechanic do it.   If the drain is clogged from the inside, it would be more difficult because the dash would need to be removed to be able to access the evaporator.
Good luck!
