Mitsubishi Repair: 93 Eclipse starting problem, crank sensor, power transistor

Question
The car has the 1.8L, auto in it. My son left his key turned on for about 45 minutes. I don't have any fire to the plugs now. I was wondering if it would have damaged anything in the distributor, such as the power transistor, or am I looking in the wrong direction?

Answer
Dwayne: How is the battery? It is charged up? It's cables are they in good shape and tight on the battery? There is a crank sensor in the distributor. So if the battery is carring a full charge, cables good and tight to the battery. Then I would change the distributor. Also how old are the stark plugs and the stark plug wires. Might need to do a tune up on the car too. Hope this helps and good luck! ~Linda~
