Mitsubishi Repair: 98 montero sport, crank shaft, montero sport

the bolt for the center pulley( crank shaft pulley ) has come loose. It did not come all the way out.I tightened it by hand and started the vehicle and it came loose again.My ? is can i put locktite on the bolt and put it back in and it be ok?

Matt: You need to check your timing belt, I would say if the bolt is coming loose something is not right. No you best not put locktite on that bolt. If you tightened it and then started the vehicle but it came loose again. Then something is not right with the vehicle so I would check the timing belt to see how it is. But also see about the piece that this bolt tightens into it could be bad too. I hope this helps and good luck! ~Linda~
