Mitsubishi Repair: 2001 eclipse gs stalling when in nuetral or low rpm, vacuum leak, eclipse gs

Question
I have a 2001 Eclipse gs and whenever I put in the clutch the rpm's will drop and the car will die, it wont die when im driving unless I hold in the clutch, It just started happening tonight when I left work, it was fine on the way there, if there is anything you would know about this please let me know, thank you, mike

Answer
Mike, I would have the car coded it could be a weak sensor someplace. A vacuum leak someplace. Or you should have your fuel pump checked, with the high cost of fuel we have been changing a lot of fuel pumps. Because  people are running their cars down to empty before filling them up again and it is the fuel that keeps the fuel pump cool. Do that to much and you will cook the fuel pump. A easy test to see if the fuel pump is putting out enough fuel for your car. But a shop will have to do that test for you. Other wise if the sensors check out ok, the fuel pump too well then I would have the car tested for a vacuum leak. Hey when is the last time you did a good tune up on your car? Might help... :o) Hope this helps and good luck!~Linda~
