Mitsubishi Repair: 1991 Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000 GT 24 valve DOH, 1991 dodge stealth, dodge stealth

Turn the car over and it will not fire. Was running fine, then acted like it was out of gas with a fluttering noise in the dash just as it broke down on me. I've checked the Brain Box, electric components, etc., and replaced fuel filter and pump. Mechanic shop cannot figure it out. I know the car very well and it sure has me baffled. Any idea?

Sam: That noise in the dash sounds like the computer to me. I would have the computer coded to rule out any problem with it or sensors. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company and that company did not make very good ones. In that a piece in the computer will start to leak into the computer and with time kills it off. There are many signs of this, one of them is the car will not fire. So I would be checking that computer. Or have you checked the timing belt, you might have broke that too.But the noise in the dash makes me think of that computer. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
