Mitsubishi Repair: Fuel filter, mitsubishi lancer, upper bracket

Question
I am having trouble removing the fuel filter to service my Mitsubishi Lancer 92-93 GLXI 1.8L Coupe at home. The bottom attachment is really tough to get off. The upper bracket and bolt was easy to get off. Should i have undone this last after loosening the lower bracket first?

Answer
Justine: Sorry but your car is a 1992 model so think how long that bottom attachment has been on your car. It does not matter which bolt you loosened first. Could try a bit of WD40 or something like that to help loosen it. But the last one I did, I ended up having to rebuild the whole thing, as it was so rusted and it just broke when I tried to get it off. So I know of your troubles, just not sure how to fix them. Just don't get to mad and maybe things will go better for you. I wish I had something to help you but I don't. Well go easy... :o) Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
