Mitsubishi Repair: oil sending unit, oil sending unit, pain in the butt

Simple question..........where is it and is it easy to change???????    98 eclipse.......4 cylinder.

Jim: Another simple answer no, it is on the front of the engine block near the oil filter. But then changing it is only half the problem as you have to remove other things to get at it and then put it back. Got a repair manual for your car? Got a garage, tools, jack stands, strong back and 11 arms? You might pull it off. lol. Well working on these cars can be a pain in the butt at times. One reason as a woman with small hands and arms but not to smart on my part; I got into working on these cars. Really I would call around get your best deal and have a shop do the work. Oh if you want a repair manual for your car, most parts stores carry them and they cost around $20.00; well worth the money. Then you could read up about that sending oil unit and decide what you think. I hope this helps some and good luck! Linda :o)
