Mitsubishi Repair: radio problems, mitsubishi galant, radio problems

I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant and I've been having some problems with the CD player. It will not take an CDs inside of it anymore.. for a cuople of months a CD was stuck in there and my mother forced it out.. how she did it I do not know.. all I know is while the CD was stuck in there the CD panel would say E01 which usually meant that the CD could not be read because that happened a few times in the past when playing scratched CDs but now that the CD is out the panel still says E01 when you press the CD button. It wont take in any CDs or play them.. Please help me with this problem if you can. Thank you

Charity: Sounds like maybe your CD player needs a good cleaning, I believe you can get a CD player cleaner at Wal-Mart or someplace like that. If that does not work, you will have to either take to a shop that works on radios and CD players; then have them look at it. Or you might have to replace the player if you want to listen to CDs. Your car is 10 years old, and that players has played a lot of CDs. They do wear out with time. But before you decide to replace, I would check around to find shop that works on radios and CD players to see what they can do for you. I hope this helps and good luck! Linda
