Mitsubishi Repair: 1.5 liter mitsubishi engine, mitsubishi engine, eagle summit

Question
I have a 1995 Eagle Summit which has a 1.5 liter mitsubishi engine.  I recently started to have problems with it, at a idle or going down the road, wanting to cut out, but since it is a 5 speed it just chuggs and eventually will drive again.  There has been a few times I had to pull off the road.  I have done a new fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs and wires tune up and with the same result. I was wondering if it could be some sensor or the injectors?  I like the car it gets up to 41 mpg is it worth fixing without putting a lot of money in it, its just a back and forth to work car?

Answer
Kevin: I would have your car coded to check all the sensors and the computer. AutoZone does this for free. Other wise from a shop that can took your car up to their computer, again it will give out a read out as to what is going on with the car. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company which did not make very good ones. There is a piece in the computer that will with time start to leak into the computer and so with time will kill off the computer. Sometimes this problem will show up in the way a car will idle or the engine wanting to cut out. But again it could be a sensor getting weak also. So have the car coded to rule anything like this out. And with AutoZone it will not cost you anything to get that done. I hope this helps and good luck.
