Mitsubishi Repair: Replacing Front Struts on 97 Eclipse, mitsubishi eclipse, easy job

Question
Do you have any suggestions for replacing the front struts in a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse? We were told by the mechanic that the seals in the left one were blown, and that both struts should be replaced, but of course we can save alot by doing it ourselves. Just hoping for some pointers...thanks!

Dani: You need to get yourself a repair manual for your car. Can buy one at any parts store for around $20.00 and well worth the money. It will walk you through any problems you might run into. There are two different repair manuals one is a Haynes and the other is Chilton. I have both but I think the Haynes is a bit better in explaining things. But if the parts store only had a Chilton get that one. The manual will explain the tools you will need, parts to buy and all it will take to replace them. Have you done a lot of work on a car before? This will not be an easy job, I hope you have a garage, jack stands, tools and are ready to do this. I am not saying you can not do this but it will not be all that easy of a job, is all. Well buy the repair manual and then you can read up on it all. Hope this helps and good luck!
