Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, mitsubishi eclipse spyder, spyder gs

Question
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS with the 4g64 2.4L motor.  I recently turbocharged (and did not half-ass it I might add lol) it in December and I have been having a problem with the vehicle stalling out at idle.  I will be at idle and it will be fine, but as soon as the Radiator fan kicks on, the car starts to act up and usually stalls out, or will act up until the fan turns off.  I can turn the AC fan on, and it does not do this at all.  Also, my factory AC fan was too big to fit the turbo in, so I bought a Flex-a-lite fan with the generic 1-power, 1-ground wire.  My car has 4 wires for the AC fan, 2-power and 2-ground.  So I spliced the 2-power wires together and the 2-ground wires together so I could hook up the AC fan.  Also, my factory coolant gauge also stopped working as well.  It will be fine at warm-up, but will drop to cold and back up to normal repeatedly while driving or while the car is just running.  I am all out of ideas on what the problem could be.  I was also wondering if my wiring job to the AC fan could be affecting this at all as well.  Any help or input on this will help me out tons!  Thank-you very much!

Joseph: Got an AutoZone close by? As they would code your car for free and that would rule out any weak sensors or a problem with your computer. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company, which did not make very good ones. These bad computers will sometimes show up with a car having troubles with the idle. So by having the car coded you would rule that out. If the car was fine before you added that fan, I would be checking that again. There is a coolant temperture sensor and I am thinking that might be your problem with that gauge, other wise have you checked your thermostat. Or the wiring around it, sounds like you got a wire touching and then loosing power. I would see about getting a repair manual for your car, to see the wiring diagrams for your car, you might have that fan wired into your car wrong. You should be able to buy a repair manual for your car at any parts store for around $20.00. Also you should get yourself a voltmeter, as you can check out your wiring with that and know what the righting readings would be with the repair manual. I hope this helps and good luck!
