Mitsubishi Repair: radio code, mitsubishi galant, mitsubishi dealer

hi,
I just need to know how can i get the code for my radio. I have a mitsubishi galant 01. I called mitsubishi dealer up and they said I had to bring the car in so they could take out the radio and get the code from the side. It going to cost about 75 just to do that. there has to be a better way.(cheaper way)I thought they could do it with the vin number but they said no. I also don't have make car manual. so if you can help me that would be great i haven't had a radio for about two weeks.

Farhan: Sorry about your tunes, I know it is hard to be without a radio. But the only way I know to get that radio code is through the dealership. You might try looking on the net maybe you will find something there. I know that the company set it up this way, so if the radio is taking out of the car, that person can not get the radio to work without that code. Keeps people from stealing the radios so much. You could pull that radio out and from Wal-Mart or someplace, buy a different radio for less money, then put it in. Wish I could help you more but that is how it is. Good luck!
