Randy: You need to get your car coded, that will rule out any problems with your computer or the sensors. Which I think your computer is going. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company? Which did not make very good ones. With time a piece in the computer will start to leak and then it will slowly kill off the computer. I am not saying that is your problem but it sounds like it. If you got an AutoZone close by, they will coded your car for free. If it is your computer there is all kinds of places on the interent that will rebuild your's for you. Or else you have to buy another one. I hope this helps and good luck!

Randy: There are aother places that can code your car. All they need is a computer that they can hook up to your's. It then reads your computer to learn what sensor or sensors is out to bring on the check engine light. You could have a short too, a bad connection. The reason your check engine light is on, is your car's computer is picking up some problem with something. So the need for the coding. It will only get worse and one of these times not start. You could get a voltmeter, start with your car's battery and work yourself around the engine till your find your problems. The book will explain the right reading that you should be getting. Or you could find a shop that would have a computer to hook your car up to, most shops will do that coding for free but then you must let them fix the problem in your car. Try changing your distributor, there is a crank angle sensor in that. When is the last time you did a good tune up on your car? Are you one of those people that let your car run all the way down to "E" before getting fuel. I can understand that, what with the cost of fuel. But did you know the fuel is what keeps the fuel pump cool. So maybe your fuel pump has gone out. When you turn the key to start the car, can you hear the pump start? It would only be for a few seconds. Could be that is your problem too. I do hope this helps you some and good luck!

Randy: If you replace your distributor that has the crank angle sensor in it. And then your problem will be fixed.
I like helping people, my knowing about cars and how to fix them is a gift from God, so I feel I should share that with other. Have a wonderful year, 2007. Take care now: Linda

Answer
Randy: The next thing I would check is the car's fuel pump, is it putting out enough fuel. It takes stark, air and fuel for that car to go down the road. You can get the pressure checked on the fuel pump to see if it is putting out enough fuel. Just getting the fuel to the air and then the stark plugs is one thing, but it has to be some power behind it too. So I would be checking that. I have been replacing a lot of fuel pumps of late. Hope this helps and good luck.
