Mitsubishi Repair: coolant lose, waterpump, timing belt

Question
My eclipse lost power and died.  When I restarted, the engine made a terrible noise.  I shut off the engine, and saw that I had dumped the coolant on the ground.  After letting the car cool down, I added water to the radiator, attempting to get it home.  The water ran out as fast as I put it in.  Now the car will not start.  What should I look for?  If it is the water pump, I don't know why it won;t start.

Answer
Barbie: The terrible noise you talk about makes me think that the waterpump bearings is out. As well as the waterpump, I would say that the belt is slipping and so the engine will not start do to that. But that is only a guess on my part. I think maybe you have blew a hose therefore the water just runs in and then out again. You need to get your car to a shop to have it checked out. With the car having lost power and died. And you do not tell the year of car or the miles on it. You could have broken your  car's timing belt too. Please get your car checked out. Hope this helps and good luck!
