Mitsubishi Repair: Help me!!!!, new spark, plug wires

I have a 1995 eclipse 2.0 RS automatic and usually evertime when I'm driving the engine will start to jerk and lose RPM's and usually its not bad enough to stall the engine, and when I stop at a red light it will be fine and then maybe 6 out of 10 times it will die. I replaced the fuel filter and it still does it. PLEASE HELP ME because I'm American and I live In Germany and the mechanics over here dont really speak english and they WILL rip me off and probably not fix the problem. Any ideas???

If you have a friend that speaks German to talk to the mechanic, that would be helpful.  Your car may just need a general tune-up; new spark plugs, plug wires, air filter and an ignition timing check.  Have the battery and alternator checked as well.  If your timing belt has not been changed within the last 60,000 miles, you should have that replaced.  Any of those areas can cause the problem you're experiencing.
