I need to adjust the Idle. as of now the car won't stay running unless you give it gas. How do I do this??? And where is the Idle control on the block??? I was told It should be a screw on top of the engine...  Please help

Answer
Justin: One thing I would do first with your car is have it coded at an AutoZone it is free and could be your have a sensor going bad. Also might be a Vacuum leak with  that is causing the problem with the idle, when is the last time you did a good tune up, could have a stark plug wire leaking, could be the fuel filter is clogged. It is hard to explain to you where that screw is for setting the idle, but with cars with this same problem at times setting the idle did not fix the problem. But anyway once you open the hood of your car, so look back by the firewall and you will see the brake fluid reservoir on the driver's side of the car. And then move your eyes over to the other side and there is the battery. Just in between those two things just in behind the engine is that screw but you will have to look hard to see it. You could go to some parts store for around $20.00 pick yourself up a repair manual for your car and it would show you how to find that screw too. Also in those older Eclipse the Mitsubishi company farmed out the building of their computers to another company, but it did not build very good computers. One of the signs that your computer could be going shows up when the car gets so it will not idle right. So if you go to AutoZone and get your car coded for free, you can rule that out. Hope this helps and good luck!
