Mitsubishi Repair: 02 Mits. Galant cranks wont start, vacuum leak, battery cables

Question
I have a 02 Mits. Galant with a 2.4 that sometimes starts and runs fine but at other times will just crank and crank and not start. It has about 80,000 miles on it.  When it starts and runs, it runs great.  It is getting plenty of fuel also.  So I need to know where to begin or what the problem is.  Thanks

Jennifer: Hello. You should have your car coded as to check to see if you have a weak or bad sensor or computer problem. AutoZone will do this for free. Other wise you could have a vacuum leak. It takes three things for a car to go down the road, stark, air and fuel but the computer has to mix those things in but a few seconds. If any of your sensors are getting weak then they might work ok, one time but then next not. I would say you should take your car to a shop and have them look it over. I can only take a guess here. When is the last time you did a complete tune up? How old is the starter? How old is your battery or alternator? How about your battery cables are they tight? These are ideas for you to look at. Hope this helps and good luck!
