Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 Galant plug wires order, spark plug wires, mitsubishi galant

Question
Hello, I just got a mitsubishi galant '94 from my uncle. Thing is, there is plenty of things wrong with it and missing. I've put alot of it together, and i am feeling pretty good about it. The only problem i am facing right now is the spark plug wires. They were removed, and now i have a new set, but i have no idea what order to put them in. The distrubtor has numbers for it 1-4, but the wires don't have numbers on them. THe manual says the startup goes 1,3,4,2.... but i still don't understand what that means on how to plug them in to the distrbutor and then the engine. Any help?

Answer
Sam: If you have a repair manual for your car, it will show the firing order for your stark plugs, but that will also show you how to put your wires on. You can leave the distributor loose, so that if the car does not seem to run so good. You can turn the distruibutor till that happens. Your distributor should have a blackened terminal and that would be the number one stark plug wire goes. So you would look up your car's engine in your "repair manual", find the firing order. Such as I mostly work on Eclipses, for a 1.8L engine the firing order is with you standing with the hood open and looking at the engine.. the firing order would be 4,3,2,1. So check your manaul it will tell you what your car's firing order will be and that is how you put on the wires. Then find number one spot on your distributor cap(blackened terminal or some have the number 1 for that spot too). So then your number one stark plug, wire and that spot on the distributor cap would go together. Then work your way around the cap. Best bet is to start with the stark plug, find the number one spot. Do first stark plug, wire and put it on the distributor cap, then do number two, stark plug, wire and cap, number three stark plug, wire and cap and then number four, stark plug, wire and cap. Hope this helps and good luck!
