Mitsubishi Repair: 92 eclipse, shift cable, tranmission

Question
hi,
im definatly not going back to him.  the car is back how it was when i gave them to fix it.  its not doing anything different.  i payed him 1300 dloars for wat......nothing.  and i do know how to work on cars.  i work on my two all the time.  never really got into the big stuff like transmision and motor.  but like i said, it runs in 3rd gear only.  starts out in it and stays in it.  that mechanic told me that it could be the computer going bad.  he said they tryed two trunsmisions and they both did the same, so its gota be something electrical.
im just gona take it to one of my dads mechanics and get it checked out.  hopefully he can fix it, cause i really dont feel like going to the dealer

thanks for ur help

Alex:Wait a minute here, you paid this mechanic to put in a new transmission and he tells you it is something electrical? Go back to him and get him to fix whatever is wrong, I am not sure about this electrical thing, maybe you should check the fluid level. But either way, that man put that transmission into your car. It should work right, you paid for it and so he should stand behind his work so do it right. There is a linkage what could be adjusted. There is a shift cable with could be needing adjustment. Inspect the shift lever linkage under the console. Might be something there. These are just ideas. Do you know anything about working on cars? I think this guy is playing with you. He put in the tranmission, so get him to fix it right for you. You have a right to have one that shifts as it should; because that is what you paid him for. Hope this helps and good luck!

Alex: It is true that Mitsubishi did farm out the building of their computers to another company. And those computer do give up after a while. A piece in them starts to leak, though that piece keeps working everything else that gets leaked on. Burns out. If you open up the glove box, well take the door off and smell sometimes you can get the smell of burnt wires that would be your computer. But sometimes there is no smell but still the computer is bad. I do hope someone can help you get your car right. Because you put out a lot of money for something that does not work. I will be pulling for you, hope this helps and good luck!
