Mitsubishi Repair: Check Engine Light (P0340), camshaft sensor, mitsubishi mirage

I have a 1996 Mitsubishi mirage (1.8L) with the check engine light on and it gave this code: P0340 which indicates that the camshaft sensor is malfunctioning. I'm wondering if I need to replace the whole ignition distributor for this or if there's another way to repair this problem

N.S. You will have to replace the whole ignition distributor as the sensor is in the distributor. But gee, that will fix your car, make it run better and you will be set for but the cost of this sensor. I mean is not that cheaper than buying a whole new car? Hope this helps and good luck!
